Room 3

Volunteers Needed!!!

Thank you to all of the parents who have Volunteered.  We still do require a few people for the morning class.  If you are available please email me.

On October 28th we have the fantastic opportunity to work with our Artists in Residence to create individual felting projects. We will require five adult volunteers to help for the hour that the Artist in Residences are with us.

The exact hours for the 28th are 8:30am-10:30am for the morning class and 12:30pm-2:30pm for the afternoon class.

All volunteers must have their police check completed in order to participate.  Please let me know if you are able to come in to help.

Math Night October 24

Parent Math Night . . . Educating as a Community
Are you totally intimidated by even the mention of the word mathematics? When your kids come home with math and ask for your help does that terrify you? Or, maybe you just want to learn more about how your children are learning math? Well, then this is the night for you.
Please come and join us for a night of math games that will help both you and your child.
When: October 24th from 6:30 to 7:30pm
Where: Belfast School in the Learning Commons
What: Learn some great math games to play at home to support your child's number sense
The evening’s events will be geared to PARENTS ONLY, however, babysitting will be provided.
The evening will begin with us all looking at some big ideas around learning mathematics and then we will break off into grade groups to learn some games specific to your child's grade.
Hope to see you there!!

Show and Share

We are beginning our Show and Share!  Each child will have 3 times throughout the year to participate.  The dates are as follows:

1st Share - October - December
2nd Share - January - March
3rd Share - April - June

Please look for a duo tang to be sent home roughly a week before your child's assigned date.  There is information on the inside of the front cover explaining the Show and Share program.  If for any reason their date does not work (vacation, illness, etc.) the schedule is very flexible and we can reassign dates.

Reminders

Thank you to everyone who brought in their reading folders!  I will check them every Monday.   We all exchange library books on Mondays.  Kindergartens are able to sign out one book at a time.  If their book is not returned they will be able to enjoy it for another week.

Please ensure that your child has indoor shoes labelled with their name.

Please send back your child's plastic communication envelope to school everyday
Each student in the AM class has a YELLOW plastic communication envelope.
Each student in the PM class has a BLUE plastic communication envelope.

Please make sure that your child comes to school with a snack.  Learning is hard work!
